Children from 1st Woodbridge outside East of England Coop Store
The children from 1st Woodbridge have helped with fundraising efforts

1st Woodbridge Scouts in Woodbridge, Suffolk has been awarded a grant of over £1,000 by the East of England Co-op’s Local Giving fundraising programme that will support over 70 young people who are part of our scouting group. The donations received will help the group to continue to provide scouting activities in the area for young people from 6 to 14 years, keeping one of the oldest Scouting Groups in the country running.

1st Woodbridge Scouts is keen to expand to accommodate their waiting list and hope to fundraise to relocate back to the centre of Woodbridge in the heart of the community.  The funds received will be put towards essential camping gear which can allow local families who might not be able to afford these items to join in on scouting camps and activities.

Nancy Pearson, Chair at 1st Woodbridge Scout Group said; “This is a fantastic donation from the East of England Co-op over the Christmas period.  Both Woodbridge locals along with Scout Group families and Scouts of all ages came together to fundraise in stores with the Co-op staff.  We are very grateful to be their nominated charity and it will help us to continue to provide Scouting opportunities to the Woodbridge community.”

If you are interested in Scouting or would like to volunteer or fundraise with us in the area, we are always looking for volunteers.  Please do get in touch with us via our contact us page https://1stwoodbridge.org.uk/contact-us/
